Interaction Program with Political Party leaders, Human Rights Defenders and Journalists on Human Trafficking

 

One day interaction program among political party leaders, journalists and representatives from organizations working in the human rights sector was conducted in three CTIP implemented districts- Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchowk and Makawanpur. The interaction program in Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchowk and Makawanpur was respectively conducted on 6 February, 23 February and 7 March 2014. A total of 29 individuals participated the program in Kathmandu, 28 in Kavrepalanchowk whereas in Makawanpur district the program was participated by 26 people.

The program was organized with an aim to aware the political party leaders, journalists and human rights defenders on human trafficking and to support in the prevention of and combating human trafficking and develop coordination among the stakeholders to combat human trafficking. The participants of the program also discussed about ways to make their roles effective. In the three districts the participants were inquisitive about the subject matter as some of them have limited knowledge on human trafficking and efforts made for prevention of human trafficking. At the end of the program the participants committed that they will work against human trafficking.PPR Nepal organized an interaction program among political party leaders, journalist and representatives from organizations working in the human rights sector in the 3 project implementing districts namely Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchowk and Makawanpur.
