Orientation on Kidney Trafficking in Kavre

An orientation program on Organ (kidney) Trafficking was conducted in 5 VDCS (Hokse, Jaisithok, Sankhupati chaur, Paanchkhal and Kavre) of Kavrepalanchowk district. The orientations were organized to aware and orient grassroots people, members of Village Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (VCCHT), and survivors of trafficking on changing forms of human trafficking especially kidney trafficking. The participants were oriented on the meaning, reasons and different forms of human trafficking and preventive measures of human trafficking. Likewise, what is organ trafficking especially kidney trafficking, importance of kidney in human body, how to take care of kidney was also discussed in the program. The participants of the program were of the view that after the implementation of CTIP program, trafficking in kidney has minimized and also expressed their commitment to support in combating and controlling human (kidney) trafficking. In the program participants' concern on gender based violence, domestic violence and human rights was also discussed.
