Tailor made Training on Gender Based

Forum for Protection of People’s Rights, Nepal (PPR Nepal) is co-organizing a training of trainers in Nepal on Gender Based Violence with International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Netherlands.

The training will assist 40 PPR Nepal staff and volunteers to become trainers on aspects of gender-based violence in Nepal. The training will take place in September and October 2013 in Kathmandu. After the training, the trained staff and volunteers will be in a better position to understand the dynamics of GBV in Nepal, identify and manage GBV cases and map out strategy to support action to see legal redress for victims of GBV. The ToT will provide the trainees with a broad framework and body of knowledge which will allow them individually and collectively to analyze, contextualize and understand problem of GBV in Nepal and to respond more effectively. After the ToT, the trainees will disseminate the knowledge, and where relevant also the skills, gained to other stakeholders.

In mid July, PPR Nepal’s Executive Director, and alumnus of the ISS MA programme on Human Rights and Development (HDS), Mr. Rajendra Ghimire visited the ISS. This opportunity was used among others to put the finishing touches to the curriculum.
