Report Dissemination and Advocacy on Kidney Trafficking in Kavrepalanchowk & Makwanpur

On December 8, 2015 half day program was organized in Dhulikhel of Kavrepalanchowk district to disseminate the findings of the research on Kidney Trafficking. The program chaired by Mr. Madan Bhujel, Chief District Officer of Kavrepalanchowk was participated by 28 individuals representing various government, non government, civil society organizations and journalists. In the program Mr. Dhan Bahadur Budathoki head of National Investigation Department of Kavre; Dr. Rajendra Prasad Saha, head of District Health Office; Ms. Bhawani Kapali from Women and Children's Office were the guests.  In the program 2 presentations were presented. The findings of the research on Kidney Trafficking was presented by Mr. Satish Kumar Sharma, Program Director of PPR Nepal and another presentation by Mr. Nagendra Adhikari, journalist. Likewise to disseminate the findings of the research on Kidney Trafficking in Makwanpur, half day program was organized on December 17, 2015 in Hetauda of Makwanpur district. The program was participated by 23 individuals representing various government, non government and civil society organizations. In the program the findings of the research on Kidney Trafficking was presented by Mr. Satish Kumar Sharma, Program Director of PPR Nepal. In both the program views expressed by the participants and guest of the program show that the issues has been raised to an extent that people started acknowledging that kidney trafficking is one of the serious issue in the current scenario that needs to be addressed immediately.
